An hour @ the University of Western Australia

I have only been once to the famous UWA, in Nedlands. Just to take some photos and with a friend in 2009
But this time, I needed to go there to get something to eat.

I was hoping I would be able to eat some inexpensive but good to taste food, but my efforts to walk all the way to the other side of the campus were in vain.

UWA is very different compared to Curtin in terms of attitude, studiousness, students and the campus.
Curtin is a red brick university whereas, UWA is classical and the students are very sincere and the study is quite theoretical. I am told that Curtin's courses are very practical rather than UWA's academic style ones.

There were a few good things about the campus that I loved. First was that there was no construction work going on and all the trees were intact, compared to Curtin's where there are a few trees felled every semester to build another building for Chemistry or Engineering or Petroleum- the real Industry you know...

Secondly they encourage use of bicycles and two wheelers. So people probably do not complain about not having enough parking spaces at YuuNie. It was great to see many students- both local and international, cycling or skateboarding on campus.
Guess what, they even have a subway under the Stirling highway, and is used by pedestrians and cyclists.

Then as they say good students don't keep bad habits.Which may hold true here, because I did not see a single soul smoking on campus, or even nearby, off campus. There may have been a ban in place, but its a good thing, isn't it?
Which makes me very pleased and I forgive them for the bad food they gave me.
