I am confused..

.. free school or paid school?

I am thinking of studying a certificate course in digital media however, I wonder whether it will be a waste of time. This is because of the ample availability of tutorials on paid and free/open source design software online. The certificate will certainly give me another set of letters under my name, but will it necessarily give me more skills than what are taught online?

I am thinking now, whether I should just do the short course called " Building professional websites using dreamweaver". It is a two day intensive workshop course offered by Swan Tafe. There is another course called "Websites using dreamweaver", which costs half but I think its a very basic HTML story.I could study something like marketing or business which is short but useful and, since I have a degree in design already, a business side course would be an addition to the portfolio.

I am still confused and I think I will be spending my holidays doing all these tutorials...possibly leading to a "no-need for the web design workshop" the above image is created in photoshop with help from www.hongkiat.com.

There is also a certain course for AUTOCAD training. I read, however that Autocad is a fairly easy program to learn, if you know basics of 3D design, which I do, since I have done solidworks for 2+ years. Still, a certificate of completion from a well known institute looks and feels good on the CV.

I have about one week to decide. I will be going to the gym regularly now that I have more time on my hands. However, these tafe courses are 20-22 hrs per week, so I am thinking of taking a break from my job- at Bunnings- or just do one day a week. That would be all.
