Diwali special.....

Diwali, a festival with lots of goodness attached with it. A festival of lots of colors and enthusiasm added to it. Each year i make rangoli and some other decorations to add to this enthusiasm and joy. Also helping a bit to add more colors in faral is also part of it. There are so many pre-preparations to just make this day as beautiful and nice as possible.
This diwali i tried two rangolis. One was what we call it as 'pachbot chi rangoli'- a style of drawing rangolis were we use all the five fingers to make the design. The other one i tried was little bit new style called 'patches rangoli' were the various stones and pearls of different colors are used to make the rangoli.
The above pic was the pachboti rangoli- i designed it simple just with the basic circles and few color combinations. The 'dia' was drawn with just few mirrors placed beside it just to give a little gloss effect to the rangoli.

The other one was of patches. Here i first made the plywood cuttings of flower and 'koyari'- mango and 'swastik' shape. Then painted it with black and red colors. This was the base of the patches. This became the base color on which the design was made.
Then, i took pearls and stones of colors like green, orange, yellow etc. i.e which were in contrast to the base color. Arranged it to form various designs on it to make it look like this..
Finally on diwali, a design of rangoli along with these patches was done to give it this effect... Base of the rangoli was in green, yellow, pink and dark blue. In the center there was a 'diva' kept so that its light gets reflected on the stones, pearls and mirrors and make it look more vibrant.
